Food and Drink at The Chequers Inn

We are very proud of the food we offer, which is diverse and interesting and our team are passionate about producing great food. We have held an AA Rosette each year since 2004. We are open and serving food 7 days a week from 12noon.

Our menu changes throughout the year to reflect the seasons and our Pub Classics Menu consists of favourites such as ‘Proper’ steak and local ale pie. Being located in the Peak District we are fortunate to have some fantastic food & drink suppliers right on our doorstep which we actively use.

During the day we also offer a comprehensive sandwich and salad menu served inside and outside (Monday to Saturday only).

Children are not forgotten either, with our Young Diner’s Menu a big hit with our younger guests.

We also offer a great value traditional Sunday Lunch on Sundays, served alongside our usual menus. Freshly roasted Loin of Pork (Turkey over Christmas!) or Sirloin of Beef are served with homemade Yorkshire pudding, mash, roasties, cauliflower cheese and seasonal vegetables. Perfect after a long walk in the Peaks or just a good excuse for meeting up with friends and family. Please note that roasts are subject to availability – when they’re gone, they’re gone!

We have a new larger dog-friendly area to accommodate your four-legged friends, but this should be requested at time of booking as we don’t allow dogs in the main bar area.
