We are open!
We understand that guests may have concerns about visiting The Chequers now we are open, but we wish to assure you that measures have been put in place to secure the safety of both our staff and guests.
We have carried out risk assessments for both our guests and staff and we have met all the guidelines set by the government to allow us to reopen safely.
Our temporary measures include…
In accordance with government guidelines, as from Monday 14th September, we will no longer be taking bookings of more than six people.
It is also a current requirement that we are closed by 10pm each evening. Our residential guests will obviously be able to take a nightcap up to their room.
The whole premises, including carpets, soft furnishings and furniture have been deep cleaned.
We have temporarily produced laminated menus, which will be sanitised before being handed to you.
Staff have received both online and on site training regarding new procedures.
Check in/out times temporarily revised to allow for our staff to spend longer cleaning rooms and to allow airing between guests. New times are 4pm/10.30am. Unfortunately we will be unable to offer early checkins or late check outs.
All incoming deliveries received at the staff only door, preventing delivery drivers entering the building.
Tables are sanitised after each use, with tables not being set in advance of your booking.
Service at the bar suspended allowing us to offer a full table service.
Additional tables in the garden to encourage outside dining.
Table reservation system and check in procedure amended internally to allow for adequate social distancing.
Slightly reduced capacity for diners and reconfigured table layout to allow for adequate social distancing.
Regular cleaning throughout the day with all critical points regularly sanitised.
Appropriate PPE available for all staff.
Hand sanitisers provided for guests at the entrance.
Staff issued with their own pocket sanitisers.
Contact details recorded and kept for 21 days before being destroyed, allowing for ‘Test & Trace’.
NHS QR code at each entrance to allow guests to use the ‘Test & Trace’ app.
Pillow protectors laundered between each guest.
To ensure we are not entering guest bedrooms unnecessarily, we will not be providing a housekeeping service for guests staying for longer than one night. We will happily provide fresh towels and room supplies upon request.
Taking the above into account, we hope to offer a service as close to normal as possible.
Yes, things may be a little different, but you can be assured of our great Chequers welcome!
