The Chequers Inn is wonderfully situated for exploring the Peak District. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are only a short drive away, as is the plague village of Eyam whilst the market town of Bakewell is well worth a visit, especially on Monday - market day. Some of the country's best walking is here: you can take the path directly from the garden through woodland right up to Froggatt Edge, from where you can enjoy truly breathtaking views. You could wander through the beautiful village of Froggatt or opt for any number of walks nearby which vary from the very gentle to the seriously energetic. |
