The Chequers offers innovative cuisine and has been awarded an AA Rosette for the standard of our food each year since 2004. We are fortunate to have some fantastic food and drink suppliers right on our doorstep which we actively promote and use.

Our Traditional Pub menu consists of favourites such as beer-battered haddock and beef & Bakewell Bitter pie, all homemade of course. In addition, we have an ever-changing selection of blackboard specials, which includes fresh fish and meat dishes, an additional vegetarian dish and local game when in season.

We are open for lunch and dinner every day and all day at weekends. Our traditional Sunday Lunches are particularly popular with roasts available all day.

Large parties can easily be accommodated in your own area of the pub.

Currently, 2 out of our 3 real ales are from breweries within 15 miles of The Chequers. Peak Ales, based on the Chatsworth Estate provide us with Bakewell Best Bitter. Our newest addition is Farmers Blonde produced by Bradfield Brewery.
